You can't be serious... - kari - 06-28-2004

To think someone actually paid this much for ONE ticket to the show tomorrow night...ridiculous! Someone should meet up with this seller tomorrow before the show and string him up by his toes. What a jerk...

That's a lot of money. I hope it's worth it! I can't wait to go to the show, but that price seems to be a bit steep to me. I'm worried that they'll play a shorter set, and there won't be much in the way of intensity or cohesivness, because of the interview and Q&A portions of the show. I'm still excited to see them in the Mod Club, but I'd be more than a little hesitant to pay that kind of money.

Hey, If I had the money I would have done it! The Hip at a venue that small is pretty rare these days.

Not condoning anything here, but isn't it just a case of 'supply & demand'?
Also, you say it's ridiculous for someone to pay that much for one ticket, yet you're mad at the seller?
Confusedcratch:
Again.. 'supply & demand'.

I'm not mad at the buyer...he's silly for paying that much. I'm a diehard, but not crazy enough to spend that much, and I have the money to pay for such a ticket. I just think it's ridiculous that people can even get away with selling this stuff on ebay for such a stupid price. I've sold tix in the past, but at face value. That's just my beliefs that things should be done in such a way. Supply and demand will always be here with us, but I don't necessarily agree with it, is all.

What's interesting is this line from the description:

Quote:Ontario Residents: Ontario province law restricts the resale price of a ticket for this venue (event location). If you are a resident of Ontario, your maximum bid cannot exceed $60.00.

I suppose it's possible that whoever paid $418.36 for the ticket may be from out of province, but I kind of doubt that "mplleafs" lives very far from Toronto. What difference does it make where you live though? If the law feels that anything over $60 is unjust for an Ontario resident, why is it alright for a non-Ontarian?
