Listen... In getting ready for the next poll over on <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hipbase.com">www.hipbase.com</a><!-- w --> I have an idea that will be fun to try. I want to have a vote/poll including 5 songs that the Hip most likely won't do but if we had the choice to hear that one Gem from the past this would be it. I know not all of us are going, but with TTH having never played the Hummingbird before.... these 2 nights have an opportunity to be quite an evening with.... for the Audio & Video Bootlegs which most of you WILL have access to after... especially if they do the one song we all feel should be dusted off. I will promote the poll here on Henhouse, the Newsgroup & Killerwhaletank to attempt to get 200 responses or more.
Then for the hell of it.... we'll mail it off the <!-- e --><a href="mailto:tth@thehip.com">tth@thehip.com</a><!-- e --> and have the results printable so incase anyone who knows they maybe going backstage at any of the upcoming shows can personally hand the results to GORD SINCLAIR. Chances are slim... but with this band you never know... lets giver a shot!
Hands down "ANOTHER MIDNIGHT" is on the listfor me!

i would've included Vapour Trails, but they've played it a few times on the summer tour, so I'm hoping they'll continue it into the Theatre tour
i also really really want them to play Leave, but I listened to it during the IVL preview shows and it just doesn't have the same "bite" that it does on the album. It's hard to explain but the concert version is 30 seconds shorter than the album version, and they play it "faster" to the ear than on the album. Leave has a great beat that chugs along which allows Gord to slow down with the lyrics and not sound as if he's yelling them or speeding them up. To me, Leave floats along and Gord essentially 'talks' throughout the song instead of singing, which makes for a really great song.
If they can nail down Leave live to sound like the album version, they should play it. Otherwise I think it sounded very bad in the June concerts, and it is far and away my favorite song from IVL! Go figure!
