imo one of the most underrated songs in the catalogue
what you think?
- Stephen Dame - 06-13-2004
When Gord hits the notes, outside on a cold night, it's magic. When he has to strain, it's a weak spot. The album version is great.

I met a girl from Thompson once. She told me a story about Johnny, I forget the story now, something about a girlfriend, I remember it being mildly entertaining. I'm starting to think this band stretches further across this great land than the Trans-Canada Highway.

I'll sign my name to this. Fully dig the song, especially the very "off the floor" approach that ended up being on the record. Don't mess with perfection.
Cheers
Pat

I am a big fan of the tune. Listening to it at the top of spring just makes me all the more happy that summer is soon approaching.
I have always had that one playing, but my friends find it too depressing.

Agreed. It's a beautiful song on record, but Gord seems to have trouble hitting those high notes when they do it live, and it kind of ruins the overall effect. But again, the album version is stellar. And to think, Steve Berlin initially didn't like it and wanted to leave it off the album.

absolutely love the song as well..."...it's the end of rent-a-movie weather" sums up a large part of my canadian life.

This song I think plays a big part in me picking PP for best hip album.
