Well I'm not much of a guitar player, I started a few years ago, but never had the time to learn very much. I hadn't picked my guitar up in about a year until last week, when I got the urge, and bought the Phantom Power tab book. I've been having fun trying to recreate bits and pieces of Bobcaygeon. Hopefully I'll stick with it and learn a least a few great Hip tunes!

acoustic: 38 years old, ahead by a century, boots or hearts
electric: long time running, poets, sherpa, put it off, new orleans is sinking

nois - 10-27-2002
definately nois> because i like to see where i can go in the middle, it helps me write music, the same way it used to help das hips. also abac, it's such a beautiful song, with some fun jammin at the end.

Opiated is always fun to play on acoustic. Bobcaygeon and Membership too.
Little Bones is the most fun to play on electric, just drenching it in distortion and playing the opening riff. Also New Orleans, Fire in the Hole, 700 ft Ceiling...
For bass, Cordelia, The Luxury, Fully Completely and of course Grace, Too.

Three pistols on acoustic.

D-man - 03-14-2004
I guess the obvious choice is NOIS. It's just so easy to improvise over and have fun with.
My other two would have to be Fight and Bring it All Back. Two more great tunes that just scream extended jam.

as an acoustic player, i like to come up with different arrangements for a lot of tunes, often changing key to suit my fingerpicking (and also lower singing range). i've also been playing some hip tunes country-bluegrass style just for fun.
here's what i've been pickin' lately:
Vapour Trails in Em
Let's stay engaged: C
escape is at hand..: D in drop-D tuning
yawning or snarling: Bm
something on : E boogie blues
nautical disaster: Am
little bones: Em

Well, I just picked up the guitar (acoustic) about 4 months ago so my favorite hip songs are the only ones I can play.
Wheat Kings
Another Midnight
Fiddlers Green
If any one has any suggestions of other hip songs that are relatively easy to play please let me know.
