Its Joel Plaskett Emergency. I dont know much about this band. What do you guys and girls think about JPE??

Never heard of them, I usually miss the opener anyway. I guess Id rather drink cheap beer at a bar down the street.

Never heard of them myself....Here is a clip from EYE weekly's review of his album Truthfully Truthfully, which made their top 20 albums of 2003 list:

He's good .. really good. I've seen Joel perform atleast 15 times in the past year and he always puts on a great show. His drummer, Dave Marsh is really solid as well. Joel either brings Ian or Tim to play bass with him.
He used to front a band called Thrush Hermit about 10 years ago. He now has three solo albums.
The Joel Plaskett Emergency are from Halifax.
They are a standard three piece rock band.

.Thats awesome they put on a great show saw them last time at lees palace and 3 others times - great catchy songs good to see hes getting a good break - of all the bands on slfa roster hes the best opener

I don't usually go for the opening act... This is going to be my first time to see THE TRAGICALLY HIP.. I am very excited.. and my wish for Canada Day came true!! THANK YOU... kind of reminds me of *Summer's Killing Us*.. make your wishes, cause The Hip will do ya like the dishes LOL :lol:
Joel Plaskett Emergency is ok.. They are very popular on the East Coast Canada.. Halifax NS is where live and are from.. which reminds me I didn't add the Joel pics to my site someone emailed me.. ooops :oops:

They rock. That's all you need to know. I saw them live a couple months ago here in Calgary and ended up buying their new disc immediately after the show. Great songs, great melodies, and a great live show. Don't miss them!
