Who got cocky? With two new stars (Bondra & DeVries) not performing, average goaltending and a shocking unability to win the division title, a lot of Ottawa fans were heartbroken when we lined up against the Leafs this year. Last year the Laffs would have been an afterthought, but a lot of us knew this year they could beat us. It's all in Belfour. The Laffs are one of the most udnerperforming teams in the league. A team with stars like theirs should have won the President's Trophy.
The only difference between the Leafs and Rangers is the Leafs have Belfour to bail the boat enough to keep their second rate powerful-on-paper-but-not-on-the-ice team afloat.

you know what's funny??
philly is the obvious favorite going into this series, with home ice advantage
but hte leafs had more points than they did in the regular season
103 to 101
i hate that rule about seeding the division winners 1-2-3
we might have had a different series opener,
oh well its only one game
and grooveless, we only fell short of the presidents trophy by 6 points
that's not too shabby
