Well that was a good story and all but not what I expected. From the title of the thread I thought I'd be reading an interesting tale about the hip and a wig, perhaps the truth behind Bakers long locks?

It's nice to see local kids getting a break. There is a lot of talent in the Kingston area. If anyone gets the chance to visit the Limestone City, make it a point to seek out the local artists. You will not be disappointed. :thumb:
Just out of curiosity, didn't the Hip have a beef with the Whig? Something that happened in the early 90's when they were on tour and the paper went around interviewing friends and relatives without their permission? :?

Goes to show you that sometimes you need to have guts to get places. Just think if he hadn't had that conversation! What a lucky guy.

I'm pretty sure that their beef is with a writer named Greg Burliak.
Here's an article from 1996.

Good one Chris but I don't believe the hip hate greg, in fact I believe they are friends. The time that annoyed them was when a reporter/photographer at St. Lawrence College took something they said and made nonsense out of it. I can't recall dates and such but I believe it was referring to something that was mentioned about not playing hometown Kingston. They've long been "put down" for standing by their moral convictions and waiting for a proper establishment to play at!
Cheers to our newest Mayor "Rosen" who is going to make that proper establishment!!
