Defineatley worth it! You just don't see much of these cd's anymore. I bet it'll go for over 30 bonez. which is a good deal at that. It would be a good cd to get signed!

- grooveless touque - 03-21-2004

Is it really worth it to have a CD that has all songs you already have and it doesn't even have album art like an "official" greatest hits would? I mean I'm not trying to start anything, it's just my opinion. You could burn this, print the "cover image" that the guy uses in the auction, and it would be exactly the same.

- Summiteer - 03-21-2004

Still worth it.......to me,but if your not really so much a collector of Hip memorabalia them no i guess it wouldn't be worth it to ya. 8) would you buy an offically releazed hitz package from the band? if yes, why? you already got those tunez. I guess my point is I like the un-officail stuff, the stuff that's still legit but you can't buy in a store. That cd for me alwayz getz alot of well where the hell did ya get this 1 from kinda chatter, there's also a good campfire type story how I got my issue. I mean it's like all the singles, that stuff I all collect as well. Some people stop at the studio cd's, I want it all. My kidz can sort it all out when I depart this ball 0 dirt.

Hey I always wondered, are there many people in your area who like the Hip? I mean, I know there aren't many people in your area period, but you know what I mean Big Grin Are you able to find friends up there who are fans of the band?

- Summiteer - 03-21-2004

Not really too much in the way of Fanz up to here, I got this tour coat and I think alot of people like it,but they don't know the band. But there is a few odd people that say hey the Hip cool, shit like that. I was at the post ofice the other day and held the door open for this one fella and he said nice guy with a nice coat. But my coat is kinda all encompassing,I got the original 6 patches lined up on the left arm, a Canadian Flag over my heart,a THC patch on the right arm, and alittle honarary patch for my Islanders at the bottom front of my coat.So if you seen me with this you'd be impressed to say the least. My bro's say I shouldn't where it around becuase someone will mug me for it.

- grooveless touque - 03-22-2004

Nobody would mug you for it because it would take too much time and effort to remove the Islanders patch

- CanuckCourage - 03-22-2004

Sounds like a cool jacket Summit. :thumb: Gotta get a jacket to go with my jersey .. Hey..You need a place to stay in Calgary ? 8) ( wheels turning  he'll never notice If I switch the Isles patch with a Flames crest  ) Hahaha , Neil you are a step ahead of me

- vicariousmartyr - 03-22-2004

hey all, if you could actaully compile your own Hip greatest hits cd, what would it look like? i think mine would go something like this...(although im sure as i get responses, i'll be kicking myself for leaving songs out)
(im just going chronologically)

blow at high dough
new orleans is sinking
38 years old
little bones
cordelia
the luxury
courage
100th meridian
fully completely
grace, too
yawning or snarling
so hard done by
trouble at the henhouse
poets
the darkest one
good life if you dont weaken
silver jet
the dire wolf

its harder than you think, the selective process is painful

- D-man - 03-22-2004

I think my list would be somewhat similar. It'd go a little somethin like this...

NOIS
38 Years Old
Blow at High Dough
Cordelia
Little Bones
Long Time Running
Fifty Mission Cap
Wheat Kings
Courage
Nautical
Grace
ABAC
Poets
Fireworks
Music @ Work
Good Life
Darkest One

Well, something like that anyway. You were right, it is hard to pick!

??? - LoftyPines - 03-22-2004

On many occasions I have pondered this exact problem. It is obvious to me, that my greatest hits compilation would span far more than one disc. You find so many gems, and different versions of songs, to me it is impossible to make a greatest hits. I think that many people on these boards would agree with me.

Am I wrong?

- vicariousmartyr - 03-22-2004

it is, it really is, but i figured i'd just give it a whirl anyways...

and, by the way, i must say that a really admire The Hip for NOT releasing a greatest hits cd, because it seems as though almost every 'big band' these days is being pressured into realeasing one. Good for them

- das_hips - 03-22-2004

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't The Hip have no most number one hits on Canadian Airwaves? Something around 32... another CD and their Greatest Hits CD would be a 3 pack...
