What do you think is the most funny or the most outstanding answer given by gord or another member of the band during an interview, and what was the question.

Interviewer: Does it piss you off when people get too analytical about the lyrics?
GD: No, I tell you what pissess me off. Last night, I was sitting on the toilet with my pants around my ankles and I realized that they were sitting in the urine of the night before. That pisses me off. But other than that not much else pisses me off.

I agree, good one. My friend and I were at the muchmusic I&I and before hand they said if we could come up with a question to ask gord, we could get a good spot to stand, so my friend came up with "would you ever perform on the tom green show?" To which Gord replied "would we? sure.."tv's fun""

ON COPYRIGHT LAWS

Bruce(audience member): Would the group support a fan initiative of petitioning the government to get a change in the copyright laws ?

GD: Uh, Change in the copyright laws to reflect ?

Bruce: Well in relation to the new album that was distibuted in April, this year, prior to the actual release, uh, there's no particular copyright law that I know of present in Canada as there is in the States, um and I think it's the next thing to theft from this group that music was taken and distributed. So what i'm asking is "If the fanbase lobbied the government for changes in copyright laws, does the Tragically Hip support that initiative ?

GD: The fanbase is going to do that though ? The fanbase is going to organise and say that "we think we should have less access to this music than we have now " I mean, I just don't know, I don't, ah... i'm not sure if that's what you're asking me, ah but I can't imagine, I mean basically it's a fanbase that are trying to get the music early because they can, because they're interested, and they're curious and they're excited about it, and ah, if it's theft um, don't stop. It's only money Bruce.

ON FLAG WAVING

Audience Member: How did you feel at Woodstock 99 playing on American soil, and seeing all these Canadian flags ?

GD:Um, that felt really good, it was like uh, like stepping out on to an aircraft carrier, uh going through the Grand Canyon and uh, that's usually where I feel most comfortable, those epic settings, and um, it was like yeah, 30,000 odd Canadians that came across the pond and maybe sort of why we were on the bill. Um , ah I know if I was organising it, ah, I would put us there, and um, you know it made us feel really good obviously, it always does, it's a , it's something that kinda, it's discounted by people as a, that wherever we go that perhaps were a USO band just performing for the troops abroad wherever we happen to go, homesick drunk Canadians, were on all corners of the globe, but you know, ah it was really nice to see, ah you know Woodstock itself was uh,it was in the little things, you know, when the MC um, you know Alanis Morrisette wasn't even off the stairs, leaving the stage after a beautiful set in the golden hour and uh, and uh the MC, the raspy voiced MC said " Enough of this mellow shit", and that was over the PA, and you know and that's just not cool, and I think that festival's made up, and Fred Durst did the same thing and uh, and that's just not. that's not music, that's ah, golf, no offence to the golfers.

No idea where it's from... assuming from the first Egos and Icons... it sounds like Bill from Much doing the interview I think.

I have the sound file on my computer... it's pretty common on Kazaa I think
