hey everyone.

I asked his on the discord server, but wanted to make sure more people saw it ... if I could get some cheap hosting, would people be interested in keeping this site open? I'd be willing to help run it, but would need help from others.

I haven't reached out to Lance yet, because I wanted to gauge the interest of the group first (I am going on the assumption that Lance will be ok handing everything that he has spent years on, to a new owner). hopefully I'm not stepping on any toes. :thumb:

Definitely! I was hoping that someone was working behind the scenes to keep the lights on after December 1st. I'm of no use when it comes to computers but if there is a cost to hosting the site, I'd be happy to help in that regard.

Yes, let’s keep the dream alive! Does anyone have any connections or friends that are into geeky HTML coding and web stuff, and are a fan of The Tragically Hip?
If they would be willing to chip in some free labour for the cause, I’d be willing to help on the marketing/vision side of things.I have some ideas on taking the Hipbase to the next level!

I also know absolutely nothing about hosting/coding/HTML, etc... So I'd be of no use in that regard unfortunately. But it would be great if this site somehow stayed alive.

let's be clear here .... I don't know anything about hosting or HTML either :lol: but I think I know someone who can get us some cheap hosting. then we just need to move all of the relevant files to his host and we would be up and running. at least, that's how it works in my head cratch:

I come to this site everyday so if the site was kept open, I would continue my everyday browsing of the site.

Unfortunately, I do not have the technical know-how in running a forum.

You know what be really cool, is if there was an off chance that thehip.com would be willing to merge it into their own website.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I'm no computer whiz either but there's no way of transferring the domain name to someone else instead of trying to transfer all this info onto a new site?
