This whole thing is awful.
I already felt terrible when Don and Ron were mostly at a loss. When I heard the first chord, it was crushing.

Since Friday, the only thing I feel like playing when I pick up my guitar is Heaven is a Better Place Today.
Such a devastating situation.

And when these souls exemplify our towns,
Our common heart breaks too

The whole tragedy just guts me. Just frigging kids and taken far, far too soon. My wife and I were out for dinner on Saturday night, pub type restaurant, they actually turned the music off and played the entire 1/2 hour special and interviews before HNIC. You looked around the restaurant full of people and I don't think there was a dry eye in the house, young or old, male or female. And this is in a restaurant where no one would have personally known these kids. But you know everyone there has a son, or a friends son that is exactly like one of these boys, who it could have just as easily been. To think of the heartbreak brought to this tiny little town of 6000 people where you know everyone knows everyone, each person has a personal connection to them all.........frig it just is such a horrible, horrible tragedy.
One thing it does though is enforce that Canada is the best country in the world and hockey is the best sport in the world. The way the situation was handled, the outpouring from every province.....pretty powerful to see,

A nation is not "whispering", this time it's "weeping"... I felt my eyes well-up at the sound of that acoustic guitar kicking in.
