Hopefully I can create the poll correctly and we don't need a do-over this time. Are We Family is eliminated and we are left with the final three songs on In Between Evolution.

Hmmm..thinking of voting off Scar. It's a toss up between it and INOIB, but I'm currently thinking NO has the edge. I love Scar but there's something about NO that is really special. It was great to hear it live on the MMP tour, and it has some really great lyrics. Holding off my vote for now, though, as I can't make up my mind.

What are the regional origins of the different pronunciations of "New Orleans?"
I grew up in Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia and always pronounced it "New Orleens." Presumably then, that is the Kingston pronunciation as well - a supposition supported by "New Orleans is Sinking."
Where, then, is it pronounced "New Or-lee-UNs?" Is that the local pronunciation?
Sheer curiosity, really, as the song gets voted off the island.
INOIB is probably better in pure songwriting terms than VS. I'm not 100% sold on Gord's vocal, however, which I think could stand to be a shade nimbler with those difficult internal rhymes and extra syllables jammed into the musical metre. (You need the fluid timing of a Dylan, Sinatra, on Cadence Weapon to really pull this off). By contrast, the recording of "Scar" is exemplary in every way - not just from Gord but from the whole band - and gives this solid album track its fullest due. For that reason I voted "for" INOIB rather than Scar, though I prefer "Josephine" to either; not that any of these would have been my choice for top album cut.

Spending tonight listening to live Hip on YouTube. The Rolling Stones show in Moncton in 2005 to this day is still the best concert I've been to. The Hip of course opened (along with Maroon 5 & OLP). If New Orleans Is Beat will always hold a special place for me, seeing this intro live played in front of 80,000+ people still to this day gives me chills. It was the highlight for me in what was my "biggest" Hip show. Was hoping INOIB would make it to the final. This clip also ends with a little Family Band. Fuck I miss this band

I was at this one as well. It's my second favourite Hip show of the 2000's, after "An Evening with..." show on the 2000 M@W tour. For a band that started out with Stones covers as part of their repertoire, I have to think that opening for the band on North American soil for the first time was a huge deal. The Hip brought their A-game that day and I hope Mick and Keef were able to catch some of it.
