They are currently wrapped under my tree. A gift from the kids...
Is there any bonus content on either disc?

Mine came in a box to the door earlier this week and have now disappeared with the rest of the christmas things ... at least I know my wife listens to me when I drop broad hints,

There's a short featurette on the LTR bluray with Sarah Harmer, Feist, and Chris Walla talking about the Hip's musicality, which also features brief interviews with all the band members and a full performance of Nautical Disaster mixed in. The booklet is really cool too. Lots of great photos, an excerpt from the letter Rob received from that guy in Philly, as well as the full setlists from the entire tour.
Don't know about the Celebration bluray, as I'm hoping to get that one for Christmas.

The "super deluxe collectors edition" is underwhelming in my opinion.
- Previous Items most "collectors" have likely bought are recycled into this package (tour program, LTR theatrical poster)
- The rear cover looks like it is a website clip art image showing the contents of the box. Yes, we know whats inside and thats why we purchased. Is it too much to ask that they put some effort into attractive packaging?
- The fan designed poster was folded.
And last but not least, my biggest gripe:
From what I've read, there were 90+ hours of footage shot on the MMP tour, yet there is very little bonus footage on this super deluxe release. Really hoping some or all of that sees the light of day eventually.
Perhaps I have just been spoiled with box sets and bonus-features released from other documentaries and my expectations are too high.

Looking forward to getting this for my birthday - my pvr copies of both have a couple of dropouts that annoy me whenever I watch.
Certainly grateful for whatever bonus feature there are but what I'd really like is for a nice 3 or 4 LP pressing of the show - since Ludwig did the audio for the BR/DVD I'm hopeful this might be in the works.

Sadly there’s no bonus features on the National celebration blu-ray. It’s the exact broadcast from CBC and that’s it, but it’s great to have the audio remastered. Sounds awesome. Hoping somebody eventually rips the audio alone and puts it online.

I have the BluRay and my computer doesn’t play BluRays so I can’t really do anything.

the Hip rarely "go the extra mile" with stuff like this. Live Vault releases? here are 4 and then we will never speak of it again. Keep talking about all of the extra tracks / b-sides you have recorded over the years? nah... we'll never release that. for shit sake, even their youtube channel hasn't been updated in 5 years
I have loved this band and will love them for ever, but there are so many other bands that give their fan base much more content.

Not to mention the live broadcast at the Bathouse to promote WATS. It yielded awesome and unique preformances and footage, but the only way to re-watch it is poor quality youtube bootlegs.

You're not wrong here...there's also the ill-fated "design your own t-shirt" site that lasted all of six months (but not before I got one made...actually two as the first one was garbage - they replaced it free of charge) and let's not mention The Hip Club which was begun with much fanfare and then never followed up on...even the app only got one tour's worth of mentionable usage.

Is the National Celebration cut the same as the CBC Broadcast? Just with remastered sound? or is the visual cut different?

Remastered audio by Bob Ludwig.
The video seems to be the same but that's going off memory more than any real comparison.

Watched the DVD several times now. And most recently yesterday afternoon. I find myself sobbing uncontrollably at various stages of the DVD. It feels surreal with Gord's cancer diagnosis, the tour that followed and now Gord's passing. One thing I keep in mind is how thankful I am for having known and experienced tragically hip all these years. These memories will never be forgotten and their music will live on.
