Guilty Pleasure - cochise - 11-07-2017
A comment was made in the LTR thread (in reference to Gord saying he loves The Bee Gees), that everyone has their guilty pleasure. So, that got me to thinking, what is everyone's guilty pleasure that they are afraid to admit to?
I'll go first.....I have to admit, I actually kind of like Kanye West :oops:. Not everything, but I do find some of his songs pretty catchy.
I actually like Michael Buble too.....

I try to be open minded when it comes to music
We vacation in Georgia at friends of ours sometimes twice a year
Made a few mixed CD's for that road trip we still listen too
hip , BOH , Bowie and others... including Bee Gee's , Michael Jackson , Dean Martin
I got a chuckle when Gord mentioned the Bee Gee's for sure

sometimes I feel like Weezer is a guilty pleasure. They are very hit or miss. The recent one is absolute garbage as far as im concerned.

Just about any Accapella Arabic Chant. Also Gregorian Chant, don't know why but the natural reverb and extended decay of the melodies are pretty amazing to me.

I'm a sucker for 80's pop songs... stuff like Simple Minds "Don't you forget about me", Aha's "Take on Me", Toto's "Africa", "Hungry Like a Wolf", "Don't You Want Me", etc. That would be my guilty pleasure.
I also love Motley Crue, although that's not really a guilty pleasure because I feel no guilt in stating that.

I grew up in the 80s, so I love that music. Don't think I would classify it as a guilty pleasure though, as I don't feel any shame about it whatsoever.

I think we are about the same vintage so I grew up with this as well. True, I shouldn't feel any shame in admitting it. I love a catchy pop song and pop music was unequivocally at it's peak in the 1980's. I loved most of what was on mainstream radio back then. I wouldn't last 10 minutes listening to a current pop hits radio station today.

Agree. Love all those bands. As well as the left of the dial stuff from back then like 80's REM, The Replacements, the Pixies, etc.
