Gord is also nominated for video of the year for The Stranger.

Just took a look at some of the other nominees and categories. Wintersleep is now considered "adult alternative"? That makes me feel old, haha.

Anyone going to the Junos? I am. I was also thinking that there may be some special mention given the impact the MMP tour had on the whole country last year.

I'll stand out on the floor in my Hip shirt amongst the Shawn Mendes groupies! :lol:

I'm going and have passes to the weekend Juno events, including the Friday night cocktail reception, fanfest autograph sessions and Sunday afternoon rehearsals. Should be fun.

Nice! I'm going to go to the Songwriters' Circle on Sunday at noon, and might check out some of the free stuff downtown as well. Hopefully the weather is nice that weekend to walk around.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine any band ever having a bigger year. All 16 albums entering the charts, 11+million tuning in for a concert, sold-out tour. It should be a lock.

I could see them winning rock album of the year as well. I also think Gord has a pretty good chance of winning these ones:

Songwriter of the year (The Stranger)
Video of the year (The Stranger)
Adult alternative album of the year (Secret Path)
Recording package of the year (Secret Path)

I would love for Gord to win one and be there to accept it. Out of those four, I would give Recording Package of the Year the best odds. A full graphic novel for "album art", not to mention a film, should give him a great chance.

My plans for the 2nd fell through so I may head up hoping for a cheap last minute ticket. It'd be cool if one/any of the boys accepted their awards.
