Misheard lyrics -

Until last week I thought that the words in The Apartment Song were "She's horrible asleep..." which seemed to be a pretty witty Gord-ism. Now I know it is simply a witty Me-ism.

In Eldorado I know people who get it confused if Gord says "the mention of Berlin" or "the mention of burbon".

I'm not even sure if Gord knows the original words to Chagrin Falls.

I'm not sure if Gord remembers the original words to 80 percent of his songs, haha.

I don't want to sound perve or anything but here are some lyrics that I have always found questionably about sex, I always wondered if I just had my head in the gutter or if these are genuine.
-blow at high dough =self expainitory
-little bones ="nothings dead down here, I 'm just a little tired"
-On the Verge ="do I plug it in? or do I stick it in it?"

I was at a show in Philly back in '91 and Gord introduced "Bring It All Back" as something like "a song about an Inuit carving a woman's figure out of ice based on a picture in a Penthouse magazine". You know Gord's rants, but it kind of makes sense if you listen to the opening lyrics

I guess now that i think about it, grace too is about prostitutes, poets has got some breasts and getting laid references, Ahead By a Century should be mentioned if anyone is familiar with the original words (check out versions played on Day for Night tour.....priceless), Chagrin Falls is about an affair, so is Springtime i believe! Whats that saying again...........sex, drugs and rock n roll!!!!! I think that may be the perfect combo. I'll take fries with that.

One member of The Hip told me that Grace, Too is actually about an affair that happened to someone close to the band.
The breasts reference in Poets is in direct relation to Canada passing the law (right around the time Gord was writing the song) that women in Canada can legally go topless in public places. You know Gord, always writing and talking about current issues.

I can't recall which show or even the song at the moment but Gord introduced a song like this one time: "This song's about a boner for no reason..."
I'll try and remember to look it up when I get home tonight.
