Tell me your fav song quotes - sonichka11 - 09-03-2016

I've always liked the look of quotes/text/script tattoos so i've been slowly collecting my favourite song quotes from various bands. Curtent plan is to get a Hip themed half sleeve collage type thing. So tell me your favourite quotes in case I missed some good ones!

One of my favorites is from Dark Canuck, "Inside there's an army waiting for their marching orders from you".

Always made me think of when you try to stay calm in a situation but finally reach a breaking point to finally tell someone off, lol.

Such a good line.

(But the best was, as soon as it ended, my ten-year-old says, "put it on again." Awww yeah.)

Especially the bat line. The imagery there is absolutely incredible. I think Yawning or Snarling has the most vivid lyrics of any Hip song, maybe any song.

Agree. "Walk past damaged goods and ugly trends" is another great line from that song. Not tattoo material, but great imagery nonetheless. The combination of the imagery and the music in that song is so good that it almost makes me feel El Paso hot and sweaty when I'm listening. I can feel the heat from that "throbbing bladder of light".

Well for a tat I would think you would want something well known, wouldn't ya? How about:

-Courage, it couldn't come at a worse time.
-It's not a deal nor a test nor a love of something fated
-Martyrs don't do much for me though I enjoy them vicariously
-I'm a highway romance milking thief
-You're going to miss me, wait and you'll see, fully and completely
-I'm fabulously rich, come on just let's go
-I come from downtown, born ready for you, armed with will and determination, and grace, too

If were talking something succinct for a tattoo, nothing beats Fully Completely:

"Either it'll move me, or it'll move right through me"

Always a line that stuck with me

Oh that one is included for sure. A bunch of my favourite songs I'm stuck with 2 or 3 quotes and trying to narrow it down to one is next to impossible.

Most of them are fairly well known yeah....but that's why i wanted some recommendations of stuff I might not have thought of yet. Currently have way more than I know what to do with! In no particular order.....And yeah..."Tired as fuck" HAS to be included. :lol: The list keeps changing on a daily basis, plus there's no way I'll fit them all, though depending on the design many of the quotes will likely be shortened or cut off at random.

I've always found Vapour Trails to be particularly evocative, lyrically speaking. Especially the first half of the third verse:
