I mentioned this in the tour thread but musically he has been the MVP of the tour for me. You can tell he is having the time of his life on stage and as a fan what more can you ask for? Plus he looks identical to Peter North. I have never met Mr Sinclair but I hear he is a total class act too.

Gord usually has a slow groove going on, but he's been really rocking out this tour. I wont say under appreciated, but while Gordie gets the limelight the band somehow gets better and better 30 years in. The ABAC intro is amazing, hopefully an official live recording materializes.

I have a clip from the second Calgary show where, during "Courage" for the final encore, Gord S. is jumping around and swinging his bass like an 18 year old. I love it. It's great to see that every member of the band is using this time to have fun, and they all seem to be appreciating the time they have together. That's been one of the best things about this tour.

I really learned to appreciate GS when I sat front row centre a few years back. He was so strong, such a 'glue guy' musically...and some of those bass-lines are just great, like 'Yawning or Snarling.'

Anyone know why he decided to use a pick on at least 50% of the songs instead of using his fingers all the time? This started in summer 2012 (pre NfPA mini tour).

No idea, but some of the newer songs are clearly picked on the record - probably to get that punchier sound (see At Transformation). Maybe he is just using a pick on certain songs all the time? I don't think it would even be possible to play Grace, Too, or Unplucked Gems with a pick without getting all sloppy.

The way he's been looking at GD during Scared (and other songs) has really given me a lump in my throat.
