What It's Like to Open for The Tragically Hip -
The Heron Outside - 07-23-2016
I spoke to a dozen acts that have opened for our boys over the years in a story for the Toronto Star. Some great stories and memories shared here. SR's is especially poignant. Give it a read if you have a minute.

I got to the NOTL show early because I really like The RAA. I was so pumped when Gord came out to play Canada Geese with them and then he sang a verse on Stamp. Great memory.

Great article -- best opener I think I saw was Sam Roberts, I guess IVL tour. At that time Brother Down was maybe get a bit of radio play, but not much. Was a show in Syracuse. Came out to a 1/3 full hall, a primarily indifferent audience, and they played like they were headlining Madison Square Garden.

I was walking into the entrance as I heard Canada Geese playing. If only we were there ten minutes earlier... however, getting a cab from the camp site to the concert site was a nightmare/
