Road Runner - 07/15/88 -

Hope someone can help (it'd be v cool if so) after checking on http://www.hipmuseum.com/unreleased.html I saw that The Hip did Roadrunner cover ages ago. A band I used to be in also covered it and Id love to hear the difference in interpretation. As mentioned on other threads the whole reason I got into singing/songwriting etc was after seeing Gord at Glastonbury in 93, so Id love to hear this version to compare (and might even post my version to show)
Hip museum comment:
Road Runner: Bo Diddley cover. Only available version appears on 07/15/88, where it is often mislabeled Back Off Baby.
Ive searched google, youtube and the hip archive and that starts at 1990 from what I can see.
Thanks all
PS why do I keep thinking of a title called "Rich Kids on Acid" - was that an old band name or song title I read somewhere ages ago? Or a support band of the hip?

Crikey - didnt see that there - sorry for missing it. I'm going to get it now and have a listen. Thanks
So, a cassette tape? Whats that - is it like packing tape or something? ;-)
(My first hip album, Fully Completely was on a tape until I upgraded to CD)
V curious now, what The Hips interpretation of this song is, compared to mine.....

Do you mean Psychedelic Ramblings of Rich Kids?
Old Hip song pre Paul Langlois joining and saxoohinist Davis Manning being in the band.
I think the only recording of it is the show from tbe Copper Penny in 1985.

It must be that - I just remember hearing the phrase (must have been as you say) and knew it was early early days mid 80s = thanks for clearing that up its bugged me for years!! I always thought it was a cool phrase.
So, I listened to the track and they seemed to have done it as per Bo Diddley, my version was still similar but a but re-jigged.
