I'm on assignment writing about bands that have toured with Das Hips. So far I have:

Fully Completely Tour, Massey Hall 1993 was a group called "Sons of Freedom"
Phantom Power Tour in Ottawa 99 was "By Divine Right"
Summer Fling 2006 was "The Weakerthans"

Oh and dont forget the infamous night Nirvana was their opening act......

Sloan opened up the Euro shows on the Music @ Work tour in 2000. That London show was very frustratingly live-streamed. The Watchmen opened at least two of the shows I went to on the In Violet Light tour. Sarah Harmer, The Headstones and Treble Chargers have all done shows I've been to.

Other openers I recall being mentioned on bootlegs: Spirit of the West, Goldfinger (yes, that Goldfinger), Blue Rodeo, Skydiggers, Danny Michel.

The Waltons -- would have been Road Apples tour, at least a few eastern Ontario shows.

Maybe I missed it in the list, but Andrew Cash at the Richardson Stadium show, along with The Headstones

This is going to be a long list....especially if you include openers from festival like Another Roadside Attraction. I'll give a shout out to the great band from Peterborough, The Spades. They opened up for the Hip in Sarnia and in Kingston in 2004. Gord Sinclair actually produced a couple Spades albums, and as an ironic twist of fate, when The Spades played their final show ever a couple years ago (due to health issues with one of the members), Gord Sinclair was there. He joined them on stage for a couple songs.
