Yea, I can't wait to see this. I'm currently enrolled in the documentary film program at Capilano University. The director of this film, Pete McCormack, came in as a guest speaker last semester and we got to watch a few scenes from his rough cut. Looks like it's gonna be a very powerful film. I've been a huge fan of Spirit of the West since about 1990 when Save This House came out. From there I dove into their back catalogue and continued to follow their career right up until now. Great band, brilliant songwriters, and they'll always be remembered for putting on one of the best live shows I've ever seen. As many of you know, these guys were a mainstay on the college/university circuit back in the early to mid-90s, and I must have seen them live at least a dozen times or so. I lost count after a while. "Home For a Rest" will forever go down in history as the ultimate Canadian drinking anthem.

Here's another excellent short film about John Mann and his struggle with Alzheimer's. If I remember correctly, the longer documentary above uses a bit of footage from this film:

Saturday was the most emotional night of music I've ever witnessed. Such an outpouring of love, and inspiration. Mann is clearly going downhill fast, but his bravery was fucking unreal. Great special guests too. Jim Cuddy and Steven Page, among others

every clip I've seen has insane amounts of emotional weight to it. amazing how I can feel that through a computer screen. I can't even imagine what it would have felt like to be there.
