roadtrip passing thru Kingston/Chagrin Falls - kleh - 03-22-2016

hey everybody, i'm taking a 2 week vacation and doing a lot of travelling soon, i'll happen to be passing by Kinston & Chagrin Falls and figure ill will stop by and take a look around

any suggestions on things to see in kingston? hip way i know, but maybe some of the old pubs they used to play or something like that? any don cherry exhibits or anything like that? Dan Ackroyd pub or something?

I liked the Prison Museum and Marine Museum. Woodenheads pizza. Had a great sundae downtown somewhere too but I can't quite recall where.

Go to panchancho in downtown Kingston (princess and ontario ish) . Excellent bakery ; excellent brunch. Say Robbie there a couple times too. I would call this the best place in Kingston. Anything on their menu is great!

Make sure to grab a pint at the Toucan. Great little pub.

And after drinking at the Toucan, have breakfast at Morrison's.

Kingston's an awesome place to wander. I lived there for five years and I'd move back tomorrow if I could.

If you're walking down Princess st, and you see and old bank building that looks abandoned, it is not.

That's it boys. That's the vault. You can't miss it.

So, break in and get us some bsides and concert recordings, why dontchya.

I wish that they'd someday convert that building into a real life Hip Museum. Think of the memorabilia and exhibits that could be on display! Tourism to Kingston would boom.

I've lived in Kingston now for about 2 years and it's a beautiful city. Fort Henry has a great view of the lake and city, the penitentiary isn't doing tours anymore but they really should cuz I'd love to go in. Some great restaurants downtown including Windmills, Woodenheads, Atomica, Chez Piggy, Red House.
Greg Ball, who occasionally plays with Mr. Langlois here n there, is a bartender at Red House and has a few albums of his own including one produced by Paul. Cookes has good coffee and the Frontenacs are heading to the OHL playoffs being one of the top teams in the league so it's a good time to be a Kingstonian

If your in Kingston, you might as well take the 20 minute drive West to see the Bathouse recording studio. Besides, its quite a nice drive out through that way right along the lake. Worth the drive itself just for that.

Definitely take a drive out to bath. Their recording studio is something else if you can get in though they typically don't do tours of it. I got to go through it once years ago.

I believe sam Roberts is currently recording there now
