I just picked up Blackstar on Sunday. From my first listen I knew it was a goodbye. So sad.

One of the all time greats and one of my all time favourites. A Bowie record or three are always in my rotation. I listened to Blackstar for the first time on Thursday and thought it was magnificent. Although, I thought I read before the album came out that David Bowie said that it would be his final record... So I thought it was goodbye while listening to it before (but obviously thought it was just retirement from music).

A friend asked me for my top 5 fav Bowie albums today, and that was impossible for me to rank. I feel I've listened to a ton of Bowie, and I also feel there's Bowie for me still to discover.

Anyways, this may be the first musician death that has ever had me this emotional. Like many people here I suspect, a rich part of the soundtrack of our lives.
