Maplemusic.com stole my money! - thedarkcanuck - 12-08-2015

You could say I`m not too impressed with MapleMusic.com. I went online and ordered a hip poster and shirt from them and I was prompted that I would have to pay separate shipping because of a poster tube. Low and behold, when I received the order, the shirt was stuffed in the poster tube and they were shipped together and I was charged $20.47. When I go on to the website and only order the poster, the shipping is only $8.00 as opposed to the $20.47 I was charged. Easy way for them to add another 20% to the invoice. Wrote them a few days ago and still no reply. Needless to say, I`m never ordering from those dicks again.

Thanks for the tips, not much into social media so I ended up opening a file with the BBB. Its only over a $12 overcharge but for them to not even reply to any of my inquiries is pretty weak customer service. I`m sure they`ll respond now.

They may have charged you for the extra weight of the shirt inside the tube, not the size of the package itself.

That sucks... But:

Did you agree to pay the cost when you checked out? If so, you agreed to pay it. End of story. It's cheeky for them to do it that way but if they posted a price and you agreed to pay it, they are not to blame.

At least you got something, I on the other hand was ripped off about fifty dollars American and never received ANY Merchandise.This was 3 or 4 years ago.............................Still Waiting I Still LOVE the Tragically Hip and I am located in the Armpit of the Americas OKLAHOMA

i received a refund of$8.47 from maple music and an apology for the overcharge in shipping via the BBB. Not sure how they arrived at that number, but it gave me a good laugh today :lol:

I think they refunded you $7.50 plus HST if that number means any more to you.

There are a whole bunch of people in the TTH Fan Forum on Facebook who have been waiting weeks and weeks for merch from MapleMusic. I placed an order on June 13 and it says my order still hasn't been processed. I'm trying to connect with them for a refund... we'll see.

I'm one - I ordered leggings and a poster on June 8 and a shirt June 21. They were both processed today.

I think people need to keep in mind that Maple Music is not a huge enterprise. Sure, they should probably work on better customer service since that is a big part of their company's agenda; however, I think they are really there more for the artists as being a "one stop shop" or platform for all of their merch/music. What [Canadian] artist doesn't seem to link through MM these days?

Whenever I've gone to pick up my order (it used to way easier for me just to go pick things up), I used to laugh at the state of the office. Picture an office full of hipster, young interns, with CDs all over the floor, posters on all of the walls, no secretary or reception desk, and cubicles all over the place. A part of me also thought it looked like a really cool place to work! :lol:

Yes, but they had to realize there would be an influx of orders after the announcement. I work at a small family owned print shop, and when we're swamped, we bring in some extra hands. Maybe they did, who knows, but apparently it wasn't enough.
