Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament is a fan, or at least he was at one point. I only know this because of a Muchmusic special I saw years ago. They showed footage of Johnny and Gord S. in Seattle being interviewed by the local rock station. The DJ mentioned that Ament had called in looking for tickets to their gig that night, as did actress Bridget Fonda who was in town filming a movie at the time. To which Johnny replied "Bridget Fonda, eh? I think we can probably work that out."
Will Arnett is a big fan. He was on Jimmy Fallon one night a couple of years ago talking about them. Somebody posted the clip on here a while back, but I can't find it. I'm sure there are a number of other Canadian celebs who are fans as well.

I met Judah Friedlander (from 30 Rock) at a comedy show this summer. He noticed my Hip phone case and said "Tragically Hip, eh? They're an awesome band!"

Tons of Canadian celebrities are a fan, but I think a few and far between ones across the border.
Not sure if he was being sarcastic or not, but I do remember seeing an interview with Billy Corgan at Much Music back around the time "Mellon Collie" came out and he said "we love Canada, we love the Tragically Hip". But that was back when Corgan's ego was through the roof, so as I said, hard to say if he was a fan, or just being an arrogant ass....
I do remember reading a Rolling Stone article (maybe linked from somewhere on here) where Pete Townsend when asked what new opening act impressed him the most he said something along the lines of "they may not be anew group, but The Tragically Hip". Somehting alomng those lines any ways.
I also remember hearing a quote from Sheryl Crow during the ARA97 shows there she said she was going to name her next album "Tragically Hip" because it would sell so well in Canada. I assume that meant she became a fan back then.
