Album Tour - Dreaming - Flamenco - 05-21-2014

This has probably been discussed at length but here goes ...

Listening to DFN and PP in the car lately and was thinking how cool it would be for the Hip to play an albums tour.

So each night fans would be treated to tunes from groups of albums.

Obviously the guys would need to re-learn a crap-load of material but fans would be treated to some beauties!

Night One: EP, UTH, RA
Night Two: FC, DFN, TATH
Night Three: PP, MAW, IVL
Night Four: IBE, WC, WATS, NFPA

I think it would be better to do one album a night, plus sprinkle some other gems with Yer Favourites. Do An Evening With style; they play 1 45-60 min set by playing an album front to back, then do a second 60 min set with something like 8 greatest hits and 4 other "unplucked gems". That way casual fans get to hear the staple hits, while hardcore fans get the satisfaction of hearing every song off an album, plus a couple of surprises in the second set.

I think with few exceptions, the album shows are a sign of a band trying to milk past glories. I'd rather seem a band with a new, inspired album, fitting in old songs that make sense with their new work than playing jukebox from 20 yrs ago.
