Vinyl Alibi, a record store in Bowmanville, is advertising pre-orders for RA on a vinyl reissue, released by Music on Vinyl. Anyone else know anything about this?
Check their FB page for more details...

I picked up a Thelonious Monk vinyl from that label. Very nice quality as far as my uneducated vinyl ear could appreciate.

I've got numerous MOV records, all of which are fantastic....hope this is true, and hope there's more to follow!

Sweet! Fingers crossed this is the start of their entire back catalogue being reissued on vinyl (one can always wish).

Tragically Hip - Road Apples (Music On Vinyl) (Preorder: June 25)
Re: Road Apples vinyl reissue -
Dire Wolf - 06-06-2013
I was going to post my feelings on how this and other potential Hip vinyl re-issues would most certainly be cut from a Digital master, not the original analogue master tapes, but decided to contact Mark at MOV directly. Question and response...
Hi Mark,
Greetings from Canada! I have a question about your upcoming vinyl re-issue of The Tragically Hip's Road Apples album. Will it be cut using high res files or the original analogue masters? Also, do you have any plans to re-issue other Tragically Hip titles?
Hallo,
We’ve used high res files. Be on the lookout for Up to here, it will follow soon.
While this re-issue will probably sound better than the current CD. It certainly, will not touch the original STERLING mastered vinyl. Interesting that MOV has plans to re-issue RA and UTH, considering they are 2 of the easiest Hip vinyls to find and sound amazing. Now, if MOV ever gets around to doing DFN or TATH, that would be a lot more interesting.
It's nice that somebody has finally decided to re-issue some Hip vinyl. This will be a nice option for those who don't have the originals and aren't interested in spending a fortune trying to aquire them.

Alan Cross had noted that The Hip were to get the deluxe reissue treatment last year. Maybe this is the start of it...

Weird that the Hip don't have this for sale on their official site.

It's been a while since I've perused these forums and nice to see some of the familiar avatars. I am beyond excited they are re-issuing RA, but agree with the poster above that DFN and TATH are a MUST for re-issue. I am just a measly student with the financials to go with it and as much as I'd love me some 87-96 in LP format, I just can't swing the hundreds they all seem to cost.
Cheers for the link, this has made me a happy man today.

as much as i love this album (probably my personal favorite, since it was my introduction) and understanding it's a boutique label and such.
$40 is a bit too steep for my budget.

Funny that. If I had seen an original for $40, I would have snapped it up. But I'm having trouble pulling the trigger on a $40 copy now too. Anybody know how many copies will be pressed? Would like to see a review.

I'm not sure if this matters to anyone else (But it matters to me) but I heard from MOV and this will be a black vinyl-only release. No coloured wax on this one.
