Two Cool Hip Scores in the Last Couple Days - restlesssoul - 12-12-2012

First off is this one:

I was at the first Vancouver show. A guy randomly asked my buddies and I if we wanted some fungii right before entering the show, and we said "yuuuup". They opened with Something On and the whole stage was yellow. Great times were had. I have not seen Vapour Trails live since this show! One of my favs too. I only have one other poster from the 90's shows I was at but this is the first Hip one. Can't wait to get it on the wall and framed.

Okay, here is the second one I found at the Flea Market here in Vancouver on Sunday. It's like a promo of sorts for Fully. It's huge. The guy said it came from an HMV at one point. He wanted 20bucks but I got him down to 10. I'm happy with it!!!

i saw the saint john and moncton shows on that tour. i taped the saint john show and met the band in moncton. i gave gord the tape liner of the saitn john show... he looked at it and asked what the story was. i told him that i saw a sign that said i could tape the show so i did. he asked how it sounded, i told him "not bad" and he smiled and signed it. i should dig it out and post a picture.

oh, and By Divine Right was the WORST opening band ever. my god they were awful.

Agreed. I tried to give them a chance, but I just couldn't get into them. For me the only memorable thing about that band was that they featured a young Leslie Feist on rhythm guitar and background vocals. When the Hip tour came through Calgary it was kind of a cool "hometown girl makes good" story in the local papers, as she had gone from playing in local punk-rock bands in the early to mid-90s to suddenly opening for the biggest band in the country.
