Can anyone help me identify this recording? - shadowfirebird - 04-22-2012

I've found a really good Hip set on my hard drive. But I don't know what it is!

I seem to remember it was a time-limited, legitimate download from no more than five years ago. I want to put it with the rest of my music collection but -- sorry, I know this is really anal of me -- I don't know what to call it...

If it's NOT legitimate -- I'm not sure what Hip's rules are, to be honest -- someone please tell me and I'll remove this post.

Anyway, it's a live, not-quite-unplugged set played in front of what sounds like a small audience.

The set list goes:

1. Poets
2 .Get Back Again
3. Every Irrelevance
4. Butts Wigglin' (it's said that this has been requested).
5. Fireworks
6. Long Time Running
7. Pigeon Camera
8. Scared
9. Bobcageon
10. Grace, Too
11. Radio Show
12. Membership
13. Flamenco
14. Wheat Kings
15. Thompson Girls
16. We'll Go Too

Any help greatfully appreciated.

Thank you. The name does ring a bell. And it would explain why in some tracks the audience seems bigger than others... Smile

Much as I love the 'normal' arangements, there is something about stripping down a song you love to the absolute minimum that makes my spine tingle. It really is a wonderful collection.

Phantom Acoustics is one of my favorite fan compilations I downloaded from thehiptracker. During the Phantom Power tour the band was recorded performing acoustic versions of their new songs for a couple of radio station promotions. Other songs are just great acoustic versions recorded by fans at concerts I think.

I need to dust my copy off and play it again!

I don't suppose anybody has a good old fashioned mp3 version of this?

Just curious, but what is it against downloading the FLAC's and converting them.

It's just too much of a hassle. And I'll admit, I'm not very tech savy and I wouldn't know how to do it. I know FLAC is supposed to have better sound quality, blah blah blah. But honeslty I can barely hear the difference between a CD and an mp3. Most likely because my hearing is pretty screwed up from years and years of concert-going and playing in bands when I was a younger lad. Until FLAC becomes the dominant universal format, I'm perfectly happy with mp3.

Question answered - thanx. Just curious, I was.
And thanks for placing a show on The Tracker Chris, it's been awhile (or who ever put it there)
And Chris, Chris - any idea if you will have hundredthmeridian back up soon?
Thanx.
