I thought it was kinda funny actually. I like the slower tempo, would be nice to see a slowed down version of the song when the boys play it live.

love it. better than any of his rapping on the show, i think. i've got a djay app i've used to sample and loop a bunch of stuff and i'm playing with some of the hip's and gord downie's stuff. thugs is obviously a natural for looping. anyone know of other mash-ups that use the hip? i kind of mash-up dylan and the hip on a post i put up on youtube a few weeks ago. i was thinking of his spoken word piece "last thoughts on woody guthrie" and how it's pretty much a rap in a beatnik way, so i used for percussion a loop of those first few moments of so hard done by that are just spare johnny fay. threw in a little chieftains "dunmore lassies" for mood.
