Anybody got any headphone suggestions? Sick of my Bose over the ears falling apart, went out and got some Monster Beat Studios and they just sound way too bass heavy. Let me know if anyone's got some suggestions.

I went through 2 pairs of BOSE QC2 and QC3 and found them to very good but both fell appart mostly due to heavy travel. I decided to go with the Sennheiser CX 6 High Fidelity Sound Earbuds about 6 months ago and can highly recommend them.

Thanks for the replies, but I really greatly prefer headphones to earbuds. My ears just don't agree with insertion (insert joke).

I've got the AKG K 240 Studio headphones and love them. They sound quite natural to my ear, and are very comfortable when worn for long periods. I also have Bose Quiet Comfort 3. Also nice, and the noise cancelling actually works. Only downers are that they don't fully cover your ears like the AKGs, and they need to be recharged in order to work. They have a removable rechargeable battery...

I have Sennheiser buds and they're awesome. On the cheaper end of things I got bought some Skullcandy headphones for Christmas and they're actually not that bad, I've only really listened to rock through them so far and they're not massively bass heavy and have a good clear sound.

Regarding headphones: I hate ear buds. But I LOVE headphones.
My question is what music do you guys listen to with headphones?
I have always been hesitant to pay any money for a real good pair of headphones because whenever I use headphones they are almost always through my iPod, and my iPod music is almost all compressed whether it be 128 or higher.
Will expensive headphones show me a difference? because my cheap ones sound pretty good anyway.

I've never found a difference worth the money when listening to my iPod.
Except with regards to noise canceling.
I got my AKGs for video editing comfort more than anything.

I'll pretty much echo Chris. You might notice some (very) slight differences. I tend to go for ear/headphones that aren't right at the cheap end but at the same time aren't expensive either, just to ensure solidity and a decent shelf life.

Thanx guys - thats what I thought. Didn't want to take a couple hundred dollar gamble.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I've been doing a dance with my local electronics dealers; try a pair of headphones for 20 days, return them, repeat. Right now I'm giving a pair of Shure in ear monitors a try (SE215-K). After so many years using circumaural headphones it's quite a change but I'm liking them. As I just recently started wearing glasses this may be the best solution for the sound isolation that I need. Thanks again.
