The Trews cover the Hip - nautical - 11-14-2010

I went to see the Trews' acoustic tour on Friday (fantastic show, by the way) and before a new song was played, Colin said that they recorded their upcoming album at the Bathouse with Gord Sinclair. In the middle of that new song, they started playing Thugs:

Unbelievable!! Thanks for posting this, I've been searching for this ever since I heard they did a cover of it. The Trews are simply amazing! Colin, the lead singer, has one of the greatest voices ever!

It was pretty cool. They incorporated 7 or 8 cover tunes into their show (Gimme Shelter, I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry, etc.), which is always neat, but I nearly peed my pants when I recognized "everyone's got their breaking point. With me, it's spiders...."

Good to know they know good music. I was a fan of the trews, but find they are in the maritimes alot, so its gotten a bit much to pay attention to everything they do. Talented bunch though!

Not a big fan of the Trews, but that was not bad at all. The bassist looked like he was ready to go home.

Every time I've seen them, he's looked very disinterested

I was at the Trews Acoustic show last night at the Empire Theatre in Belleville and Gord Sinclair and Billy Ray were sitting right infront of me, then after the 6th song of the first set, Gord went on stage with the Trews and played a new song called "One by One" off the Trews' forthcoming album then "Dreamin Man / Thugs." It was really amazing!

But yet their own song says, "I'm not ready to go...." Interesting.
