So I'm thinking of moving to Canada from the UK next year. I will soon have my Network Technician qualification. Thinking of heading in a general Toronto direction. Thoughts?
(I know it wasn't a very detailed plan, I'm currently just toying with the idea.)

So what's your question? Toronto is the centre of the universe so I understand why you'd want to be here... But seriously - there's a lot of Canada that's not Toronto.

I'm aware of that, but from what I've been told it sounds like a good place to start.
All I'm looking for is thoughts on the matter really. As I say, I'm toying with the idea. I mean ideally I need a location where the music scene is pretty good. Somewhere that's close to everything, as it'll take me a while to get my car shipped out.
One of my Canadian buddies says he doesn't think it's such a hot idea, because he thinks I'll get treated like an alien invading earth.

Not to offend anyone living in Toronto, it is a good place......but if I were you I would be giving some thought to Ottawa as well............much nicer city IMO.......

Go west, young man! Calgary is one of the fastest growing cities in North America, not to mention a damn nice place to live. And Vancouver is a beautiful city with a fantastic arts & music scene.

In terms of jobs in Toronto, you may find that there aren't a lot of jobs in "downtown" Toronto. A lot of companies are setting up shop in the suburbs, so you might have a difficult commute to get out there - our public transit system is terrible.

Just avoid Quebec, the Maritimes, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and whatever's way up north..what the hell are those places called anyway??????????????
and you'll be fine.
BC is expensive as hell and it rains non stop, so it will feel alot like home but if you're looking for something different steer clear.
id recommend Alberta but i heard it smells funny..
Ontario is cool, just avoid Toronto, Hamilton, Sarnia....well anything between Toronto and Windsor is pretty shitty actually..i know i live there..
come to think of it, i dont like Brits that much, just stay the hell home actually, we dont need ya....try America instead, i hear there's lots of room.
