One of the most difficult things for drummers is not making beats too complicated, while still being able to make the drums complement the music. Johnny knows when to make it simple and when to really bring it on. This is a quality that really shows talent, patience and alot of experience. You can say the same thing about Paul Langlois.

Agreed. Rhythm section is always the toughest. Intelligent simplicity is the name of the game.

It is very interesting to watch and listen to the techniques that the Hip use. Paul Langlois and Robby Baker adopt the strict "im the rythm man/im the solo man" type of playing, but they also somehow manage to incorporate the intermingling of the guitar just like Wood and Richards of the Rolling Stones. It makes for a very unique and interesting sound.
