Firefox/ActiveX Question - let_me_out - 02-26-2010

I know Firefox doesn't support ActiveX because it's a microsoft thing and they don't add support for MacOS, etc. Have any of you found a safe add-on to allow it to run in Firefox? Obivously it wouldn't be a Mozilla thing.

I need it to run a program through my work that I normally run in Internet Explorer but of course it's being a pain in the arse as usual. If it were my home computer I would try stuff out on my own but with the work one I don't want to screw anything up and get blamed for it so I'm asking around before I do anything else.

Any ideas/advice is appreciated.

Thanks

You could try this:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://code.google.com/p/ff-activex-host/">http://code.google.com/p/ff-activex-host/</a><!-- m -->

And here is a forum on it:

I found that one. You have any experience with it Dana?

Not with that application.
I used a different Firefox ActiveX plugin awhile back that seemed to work fine - but I have not touched FF in awhile
But on a totally different topic - I just started using Ubuntu and it is very nice so far.

The I.T. guy here is having enough fun with me as is. I work at a Hyundai store in the parts dept. and everything that we use at Hyundai Canada is Windows/Internet Explorer based. One of the programs the sales dept uses refuses to work in IE 8 so he had to load IE 7 back on every machine in here.

It's the warehouse system that I have to log onto to order parts that uses ActiveX. If I start switching from Windows he'll pull his hair out.
