Obviously their hearts are in the right place, but holy smokes, what a steaming pile of crap. And for f*** sakes, enough with the auto-tune already! It seems like just about every popular mainstream artist uses that ridiculous technology now, and I find that incredibly sad.

I personally don't think that their hearts are in the right place. I think this is just a cheesy schmoozefest and a way for a lot of the artists to get attention. Anyway, that's just me. It's great to raise money for Haiti, which is the most important thing. However, I don't have any admiration for the artists themselves for doing this. This is just about the least effort anyone can put forth to help. Us "regular" citizens donating money takes as much effort, if not more.

It would be worthwhile to me if each artist donated $100,000 to be a part of it, and then 100% of proceeds are donated.

Just like the TV telethon in the US - each participant should have had to donate $1,000,000 to participate - Clooney did, so why don't the rest?

Re: "We Are The World -25" - sherpa - 02-16-2010

how about writing a new bloody song. Not enough talent there to write a new one that you've got to go ruin an old one?

and really it is a brutal version bereft of any uniqueness - and yes for the love of god can someone please teach everyone how to sing in tune so that the blight of modern music - the autotuning of voices as a creative device - can be forever discarded into the depths of hell where it belongs. Right after we finish mixing my band's new album this weekend cause I need some autotuning for some of my vocals.

This song is so bad it's shocking. My favorite part was when the entire world collectively spoke out loud "what the hell is 'the Dude' doing there?".

My God, that video is like a "who's who of who the hell are you??".

Back when the original was recorded it truly came across as caring musicians getting together for the cause..............this one just comes across as a cheesy get together for a photo op.
