comment: I really hope the acoustic stays FOREVER. It really gives Gord D a chance to sing insted of scream the delicate songs in the catalog. The Hip proved that you can also do some of the Rockers this way too....i.e...Inch, Courage, M@W. :thumb:

4. Coffee Girl (I hate the album version of this song, I think it's maybe the worst thing they have ever put on an album, but the acoustic version was suprisingly good. Perhaps it's just an example of how Bob Rock ruined the Hip. Flame on :mrgreen: )

We all have our own opinions of Mr. Rock.... I am somewhat pro-Rock myself. We've debated this on many threads but COFFEE GIRL both the cd version and live version is quite a little gem in my book. It proves to me.... that it is ok to do something very very different from what we have come to expect and have it turn out interesting and catchy. To each their own.... and love him or hate him.. I think the last two Hip cd's and (especially)tours have took the band to new heights!!! IMO :thumb:

Yeah, I actually wasn't try to start another Bob Rock love/hate discussion, but I couldn't help myself
While I don't agree with your album comment - I find both WC and WATS somewhat medicore overall - their tours for these albums, for the most part, have been great. I loved the club gigs that opened the WC tour, and you can never go wrong with the evening with the Hip shows that they did for WATS.

I do agree with you that Coffee Girl is one of the worst song's the Hip have recorded, but I'm probably in the minority that prefer the trumpet solo on the album to the cheesy synth solo in the live setting.
