I encountered something really cool last night... - downie_24 - 05-27-2009

So I'm sitting in the parking lot of our local Dairy Queen in Kanata last night, windows down, eating my blizzard and listening to WATS. Suddenly two ladies pull up in a car beside me. The Last Recluse was playing at this time, and one of the ladies says, "hey that's a really good song, who sings that" and of course I respond, it's The Hip. She then says, "oh I never heard that one before" and of course, I say it's off their new album that just came out last month. She then proceeds by saying that she didn't know they were still making music. We then get into a whole discussion about how popular they used to be and blah blah blah...Then suddenly it clicked that I had an unopened copy of WATS in my car, so I asked her if she wanted it? I was willing to give it to her for free but she insisted on givimg me 5$, so I took it. I also told her that they were coming to town in September and she said that as soon as she got home she would by tickets. So when all is said and done, we hopefully have a rejuvinated hip fan and I was able to get a free blizzard!!
