Bring your guitar, help us choose the best Canadian song of all time - and get Toronto into the Guinness Book of World Records!

We've put together a list of our top 10 Canadian guitar tunes. Now's your chance to help choose the all-time Number One Tune - and join what could be the world's biggest jam session.

Once a winner is selected, visit here again for music and guitar tablature. Then grab your guitar and come to Yonge-Dundas Square, where The Heartbroken will play all 10 top-ranked songs, ending with the Number One Tune. Join the band in playing it as we try to break the world record for largest guitar ensemble. (The number to beat is 1,802: that's how many gathered in 2007 in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany, to play Smoke on the Water.)

Don't play? Be sure to come anyway! It'll be an historic occasion - and a great Canadian concert!

Guiness Book of World Records registration begins at 2:00 PM
Countdown begins at 4:00 PM.

Yonge-Dundas Square 40 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON

Re: The Great Canadian Tune - JT_Stone - 05-09-2009

Simple, Neil Young's Helpless is one of the best tunes to come out of this country ever!!! I love The Hip to death but nothing they have done can reach as many people as CSNY, Helpless is from Deja Vu, thus why I call it a CSNY tune...

can a song from the late 80's reach a person who was 18 in 69? And then can that tune get a vote from them over something they loved from their era?

Because "Courage" is a safe tune for a poll like this, but it also happens to suck.
