Misc song Gord sings on...Gordie Land? - Jenna_Bird - 09-30-2003

Hey all...
I was browsing on Kazaa the other day for possible hip songs that I don't have on my computer (I wouldn't dare bring my CD collection to school...eeep!) and there was one labeled "Gordie Land". I know its not a Hip song...or at least isn't prefomed by them b/c Gord only sings a verse or two...has anyone else stumbled across this track?

Its prawly that benefit tune he did did with a couple other rockers back in 93 for the Quaquat sound tree's that were being felled.

As Summiteer said, it is from 1993, and was a benefit single.

Here are some more details: http://www.deadheart.org.uk/news_and_info/songdb/song.php?subSongId=70&subVersionId=200

This is just superfluous information, but when I downloaded that on Napster (remember Napster?!) it was called Gordie Land...that takes me back! It's actually just called "Land", and it's Gord with Midnight Oil and the Rheostatics and maybe a couple other people. There are copies of it floating around on eBay - just a single with two versions of the song.

hi 57, I'm 99 1/8 sure the Rheos weren't involved in that meeting of the minds.Crash vegas,Dan Lanois, Oils, Hothouse Flowers for sure were there. It was the bands that were on the ARA 93 tour, well not all the bands but a few.

From the link I posted earlier in this thread:

"Produced by Daniel Lanois. Performed by Crash Vegas, Hothouse Flowers, Damiel Lanois and band, Midnight Oil and The Tragically Hip. Recorded at The Beach Studio, Calgary, by Mark Howard. Assisted by Chuck Ferguson."

Thanks for the correction Summiteer, I was just going on memory from when I saw it on ebay a year or so ago.
