In Between Evolution songs were missing from Charlottetown's setlist on Monday. Did me some research, and realized that they have yet to play a cut from that album, this summer. Thoughts and theories as to why?

I noticed this glaring omission at the Charlottetown show, too. I was hoping for some Summer's Killing Us but it was not to be. I guess it's just because they have been playing mostly hits and IBE didn't really have any songs that were all time favourites to most people.

That album was almost completely neglected on the '06 and '07 tours as well. The only songs I remember them playing on the WC tour were Gus and Summer. Come to think of it, they also never play songs from In Violet Light or Music@Work, with the exception of the singles of course (MM@W, Good Life) and the occasional appearance of The Dire Wolf. I can understand if the band was perhaps unhappy with those albums as a whole, but I think there are some fantastic songs on each of them that deserve to be played once in a while. Anytime they pull out rarities in concert, they always seem to be from the pre-Music@Work era.

I am not sure how happy the guys are with a couple of the last albums.
I know they seem to downplay the "last" release on a new tour. But IBE and IVL seem different. Especially Rob with In Violet Light:

well, IVL sucked from start to end.

IBE was alright. nothing really stands out for me

It is all a matter of opinion but I would put In Violet Light Up there as one of their better ones. I know what your saying right now no chart busters but The Darkest One, It's a good life, Silver Jet, All Tore Up (great energy in that one) Leave,Dire Wolf and Dark Canuck great IMO. I don't skip any songs on that CD. :thumb:

While I don't think IVL is one of their better efforts, there are indeed a handfull of songs on that disc that are prime examples of the Hip at the top of their game. The Dire Wolf, Leave, and Good Life are three of the best songs the Hip have ever written.

Ya, same here. The album didn't suck. It was definitely better than M@W IMO. I might skip some songs, but there are some songs that I would like to see on tour more often like Dark Canuck, Use it Up, Dire Wolf, etc.

That's funny those are the two CD's I've been listening to before and after the Belleville show. I've been driving alot lately so they've both received a decent amount of air play.

With that being said I've come to enjoy M@W more than I remember. Puttin Down, Stay and Freak Turbulence are current highlights. And of course Tiger the Lion has received several re-plays. Robbie's guitar is amazing. And I've always enjoyed IVL.

So I suppose I'll head back to IBE for a little Gus, You're Everywhere and maybe a little Mean Streak too.

That's the great thing about the Hip. You pick something from their discography new or old and enjoy!
