Some (not so) new Hip cd news - chives - 06-28-2008

Take this for what its worth. I received a magazine/brochure from Rogers in the mail talking about summer concerts, Canadian bands, etc.. There was a write up about the Hip, with the heading "The Hip head back to the studio." Essentially what we know already. The Hip are recording over the summer in Hawaii with Bob Rock. They will emerge from the studio sporadically to headline some festival dates, at which they hope to play some new material (Belleville, Charlottetown, Ottawa, Pemberton). The new disc is planned for November

That's nice to hear. I don't even know what I'd like to hear on this new album, I would like to get out to some club shows this time 'round, I've never seen them in a small place yet.

When they were doing press for the Kingston show, Robby mentioned that they were trying to get Bob to record them at the Bathouse. I guess that didn't work out. Although, if I was in a band and I had the choice to record in Bath, ON or Hawaii...I think I'd probably choose Hawaii.
