I ordered a GPS device online a month ago. I received two days after I ordered it. The charge has not shown up on my credit card.

Should I call the company and let them know? Or just wait and see if it shows up next week, next month, next year? Or just assume that they gave it to me as a present?

Thoughts?

You could wait a bit longer but after one month it should have been charged by now. I would call, even though Im an asshole.

Besides your not a cheap bastard, you got the bucks, do the right thing you'll sleep better.

It will probably show up eventually. Most likely they accidentally charged it to the wrong credit card, and they won't notice until that person gets their statement and disputes the charge. In any event I don't think you're under a moral obligation to do anything further; you've already fulfilled your part of the purchase agreement. If they can't process a payment correctly that's their business - and they won't be in business for long if they make a habit of it.

Doing nothing doesn't make you a cheap bastard either. If you were a cheap bastard you would go ahead and cancel that credit card right now :lol:

If you can afford to pay for it - which I assume you can - you should pay for it. And I type this as I'm in download overdrive with Waffles.

It's a company that was highly recommended to me - gpsmart - and they did every other part of the transaction flawlessly which is why this is surprising.

Just curious as to what you bought? I am looking at getting one myself, but haven't done too much shopping / comparison on them yet...........

If you want a good handheld for hiking/canoeing I recommend the Garmin 76CSx

Also if you want to convert your tracks/waypoints to GIS (.shp) and Google Earth (.kml) files there is a great program (free) called DNR Garmin you can download it here
