Vegas Baby!!! - d_alex_d - 05-01-2008

Just a couple days from now I'll be boarding a plane and heading off to Vegas with my girl friend and another couple of friends. I havent been on a plane in almost a decade, and I havent been on "vacation" in a really long time. I'm really looking forward to it.

We are staying at the Excalibur because we got a great deal on a package. It's not the best hotel we've heard but its sounds perfect for us, and they just installed a brand new pool area which sounds amazing!

I've been browsing a lot of Vegas forums and websites getting a million "tips" and things to do and see, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any of their own stories about vegas they wanna share?

Any crazy experiences? Although, what happens in vegas stays in vegas, so if you don't want to share I can understand :lol:

Was there about a year ago . Stayed at the Excalibur was very nice. Watch out for the people trying to sell you time shares in the hotel. Also the mexican's on all corners handing out hooker cards at all times of the day. We were there for about a week and we only made it about half down the strip. Head to fredmont street ( old vegas) We never made it but people from our group did and saw some of the csi guys filming. There is alot to see and do there take your time and enjoy.

Check out the resturant Ellis Island on Koval ln. They brew their own beer and have bbq. cheap Saw it on the food network.

Vegas is tons of fun. I stayed at Treasure Island and spent most of my time there and at The Venetien, but we did make it down the strip one evening. It's basically sensory overload every second you're there, so much so that I felt fairly overwhelmed by the time my 4 days there were done. That was about 18 months ago and I'm dieing to go back. If you're into construction, Vegas is eye candy. Check out the City Centre construction site. Outside of Dubai, it's the largest construction project in the world. I thought New York New York had a real great feel to it.

Bought a personalized clock upstairs at the Excalibur a few months ago....very reasonable prices.

Send your girlfriend to the Thunder Down Under show, jump in a cab, and make your way to the Spearmint Rhino(just joking, don't do this, you will be single afterwards).

Thanks for the advice guys - I'm not sure if we'll end up making it to Freemont Street, but I have heard it is something really cool to see. We really have no plans other than to try and take it all in, and wander and see as many free shows as possible. - we are broke - but plan on having some fun!! lol

Zenith - what dates are you there? and where you staying?

We're there from the 6th to 10th.

anyone know roughly what a plane ticket from Seattle to Vegas costs? after Pemberton were driving down to Seattle and may fly there if the price is right.

We arrive in Vegas on May 10th (seeing Rush that night - a great piece of good luck!). We're only there for a couple of days before we head off to Yosemite. 8)
