Looks as though Canadian singer Damhnait Doyle will have her own version of Bobcaygeon.

Should be interesting to hear, I've seen Damhnait once, and she has a very enjoyable voice.

This can not end well.
Edit: It did not end well. That is the worst fucking cover I have heard all year. Her voice is okay but the way she enunciates annoys me. She's like Christina Aguilera: she has a good voice but she just doesn't know how to use it (and I'm not making this observation solely from the cover but also from three other songs I looked up on Youtube). Oh, and the arrangement she's singing over sounds like it was made with a trial version of Fruity Loops. That sucked.

Train Wreck... Didn't even sound like she was singing, more like talking in a weird voice to a terrible music in the background.

That's a less than inspired cover. I don't think the arrangement really suits the music.
And her singing is horribly affected, but it seems that's de rigeur these days if you're a female singer concerned for your street cred. Heaven forbid you could just frigging sing.

I recall an interview with Weird Al where he said that he can cover any song he wants without permission from the artist - although he always likes to get it - he just has to pay the proper fees & royalties directly to the song's copyright holder... so maybe The Hip didn't agree/disagree as they were never asked.
