Egg McMuffin inventor dies at 89
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- A Southern California McDonald's restaurants official says Egg McMuffin inventor Herb Peterson has died in Santa Barbara at age 89.
Monte Fraker, vice president of operations for McDonald's restaurants in Santa Barbara, said Peterson died peacefully at his home Tuesday.
Peterson came up with idea for the signature McDonald's breakfast item in 1972.
He began his career with McDonald's as vice president of the company's advertising firm, D'Arcy Advertising, in Chicago. He wrote McDonald's first national advertising slogan, "Where Quality Starts Fresh Every Day," and eventually became a franchisee.
I'll have to swing by McDonald's to scarf...er, to pay my respects.-Jenna

Nope, they're best with bacon
I get them with Amurricun bacon instead of ham...errr...Canadian bacon.
I could eat one every day for the rest of my life and not grow tired of them.
McDonald's ought to give me free shares of its stock. I think they'd notice a distinct drop in profits at Cincy stores if I stopped going. :?

I have to agree with my man on this one. I've been special ordering them that way as a Saturday morning treat and they're...just...so much better.
Additionally, the new McSkillet Breakfast Burrito ain't too shabby.

Jenna, Horrible..is the US menu much different than the Canadian?
Here you have Egg McMuffin with either Sausage or Bacon (regular sliced bacon) or the traditional Egg McMuffin with sliced ham. I wouldnt call the sliced ham Canadian bacon its not thick enough, its just a regular slice of processed ham. Maybe thats your perception of CB, but imo its different.
You really seem to enjoy your McD's horrible, same here, the double cheeseburgers are my favorite for only a $1.39..you cant lose. Plus McDonalds coke is amazing, I dont know why but it just is.

It's amazing they got away with it as long as they did.

I can guarantee the show will be back in one form or another. It got so may hits online they are going to change the Nielsen ratings to account for online viewers.
