NBA Allstar weekend - The Darkest Canuck - 02-17-2008
I've been aboslutely loving it!
last night was wild! Kapono tore up the long ball competition, very nice to see that the Raps have the best 3 pt man in the league! i figured he'd win, but he was AMAZING! tied the record!
Williams broke the record on teh skills competition...
and that Dunk Contest WAS UNREAL! Best one i've ever seen for sure...
all the participants put on a an amazing show, some absolutely unreal dunks! i'm not even gonna go into them, you gotta seem them all for yourself!
and, Bosh is going to be starting after all, apparently Garnett is injured (more good news for raps fans)

Dwight Howard had some absolutely insane dunks.. the one where he threw it off the backboard then batted it off the backboard again and caught it with his other hand and then dunked it was amazing. It was nice that the dunk contest was finally worth watching again this year because it's been terrible the last few years.

He had some nice ones. However, the Superman gag doesn't count. It wasn't even a dunk. He threw the ball in the hoop. Didn't matter to the crowd or the judges or the commentating crew, though. Another example of "The Emperor Has No Clothes" I guess. :?

The "show" was awesome, but the NBA really needs to rethink the guys that they have acting as commentators. It was hard to listen to those millionaire dummies prattle on all night.

Agreed. At times, they would be talking about themselves, and not what was happening on the court! I don't care what your playoff three-pointer % was back in 1984... what's happening right NOW!?
p.s. How many times does someone have to say "I told you so! Apologize to me!" ?

that's what made it so crazy i thought, was that he was up so high he just whipped it through...i thought that was the whole point of that "dunk"...and did you see the air he got on that? scary...
i still liked his other two better though.

anybody watching the game right now? that was a pretty cool intro with the jazz band, and a beautiful rendition of Star Spangled Banner too i might add...
CB4 and the East are going to kick some ass tonight! and it's about time too, i don't even think i can remember the last time that the east actually won this thing!

so true...it was so bad, i actually wished Pierre McGuire was doing the commentary for something for the first time in my life :lol:!

I just tuned in about 10 minutes ago, watching the 1/2 time show now & will be watching the 2nd half of the game.

that game was a lot closer, and a lot more entertaining than i expected it to be! East pulled it off though.
