Don't know how many of you have played the new Rock Band game yet, but it is a lot of fun. Playing with a few friends all at once cannot be beat.
Anyway, when you make a singer/guitar player/whatever, you have the ability to change their clothes, etc. Well, when we were messing around with the pants selection screen last night, one of the possible selections was "Tragically Hipsters". The description of said article of clothing said something like "Looking for a place to happen? These are where its at".
Now, they will be releasing a massive amount of downloadable tracks over the next year (already have some great stuff out there now). Seeing this tells me the developers are well aware of the Tragically Hip's worthiness of game inclusion.
Needless to say I could not contain my excitement of possible things to come. I rocked it extra hard last night...

I got this game earlier in the week (I got the 2nd last copy on bestbuy.ca). It is awesome... so much fun. My wife was making fun of me before it came saying how much of a nerd I am, and now she is more addicted than I am!
It is a bit of a pisser that the GH3 guitar doesn't work with it though on the PS3 (apparently it does for the Xbox 360)... so I will need to buy another guitar.
To keep this on topic I will say that it would be amazing if any Hip songs came out as downloads.

yeah, i mentioned this earlier...i'm totally hoping for some hip...any hip would be cool!!! Sux about the gh3 guitar though (i got ps3 too!). and i'm STILL awaiting my new guitar (broke day after i got it on Nov. 20)

I got my Rock Band for 360 and you are all right it is awesome! Us lucky 360 owners can use our wireless Les Paul guitars as well. I say we all start sending e-mail blasts to Harminox(makers of Rock Band) feedback e-mail and tell them how bad we want the Hip! I have already sent one and this e-mail address I have copied below is for exactly that...Not sure how much it can help but it also can't hurt in trying. I heard they are going to be releasing full length albums starting with The Who...Imagine having say Day for Night....See you in Kingston!

the game was made by ea in vancouver so perhaps some canucks had some involvement in the hipster gear!

actually, EA didn't make it, they are merely the publishers...harmonix in boston made the game. EA just make and ship the crappy peripherals!

I sent an email requesting the Hip on Rock Band and they actually replied, which I thought was great. Have a read at their reply below especially the part about them being well aware of the Hip, who isn't right? :wink:
Also the link to go and request songs for Rock Band. So to those of us that have the game you have to go do it!

I put the classics and songs that people that would not be hardcore fans would know and of course songs that would be most fun to play. I think that is the best way to get some Hip on there.
