I posted this before but lost track of it..

I was lucky enough to talk "best shows" with Robby before the first Boston show this year and he said his all time favorite is this:

Robby said it was the band's best performance...

(How he remembers this is beyound me but pretty unique pick so I'm curious!)

Don't recall seeing it anywhere, but I can imagine it must be smoking if it exists. Those '96 shows were money, the tour on which I first saw the boys (Saratoga/Northhampton) and where 100th became the new NOIS, an epic 11-minute affair with Poets and So Hard Done By and a handful of others lurking in its midsection. Among my fave all-time shows on tape is Boulder in July of '96, off the radio if I remember. The sound isn't great for a pro job, but the songs and the energy are both awesome. Hiccups, if I recall. Hope the SC show surfaces. Resurfaces? We're waiting...

No f---ing way! He really picked this show? I was there, front row of course. There were very few people there. At the time I remember saying 30 people but it had to be more than that. Is this the first year Gord used the banana? Because the guys in the opening band gave it to Gord at one of the Tremont shows. I think this was it. The reason this is really so surprising is that they HATED this venue. The sound really sucked. I was surprised they played there more than once.

It looks like by now everyone can get a copy of the show. I have it on tape along with 150 other shows. I have no way to convert them to CD. If anyone wants my tapes, you can have them if you pay shipping but the shipping is going to be very very expensive. I doubt there are any rare finds in there; my ex circulated shows pretty well so I'm sure Hip Tracker has them all.

Actually I kept "Moore". It was either that or go back to my maiden name of "Spitzer." I kinda got used to people being able to spell and pronounce my last name. Nobody messes up "Moore."

Hi Rory! Wow, 8 years. Still the best New Years I ever had. Nothing beats the Millenium Zone. I always listen to the show on New Years Day.

So, no takers of 150 lovely old tapes? I get tired of moving them and they're just collecting dust. I listen to about 10 on my ancient tape player. Okay, most of them are pretty bad quality with lots of singing and screaming by the person next to the taper. But I just can't bring myself to trash them! If anyone ever passes thru North Carolina please take them off my hands.

I will confirm that this was Robby's pick.. I had never heard of this venue or show and scribbled it down on my food receipt while we were both getting take-out at the mexican restaurant next to Avalon.

As Rory will attest, I am equally obsessed with bootlegs so its no wonder that's all I talk about when I meet any members of the Hip.
